Parkour/Body Mechanics Shot

I recently learned a lot of new tricks by observing other people's body mechanics shots, so I wanted to try my hand at a more realistic parkour shot and apply this knowledge. I used a simple rig and focused on recreating the movement with realism, adding small touches of polish that slightly push beyond it to increase the overall impact.

I learned a lot through this process and became more confident when approaching realistic work.

Dialogue Shot

While working on improving my skills, I realised that I needed more experience with dialogue shots in order to feel more comfortable with lip-sync and acting-focused scenes in the future. Because of this, I decided to create the short romantic scenario shown below.

It was quite challenging because it differed greatly from my usual fast-paced animation style, but I learned a lot throughout the process. After some time, I decided to revisit the shot and create a second version to further improve my skills. This time, I added much more fluidity and included smaller acting choices that were not present in the original version.

Although this added more complexity, I ultimately preferred the older version because of its subtlety, which suited the scene better, so I decided to stick with it. Even so, the exercise was still very valuable in helping me better understand my limits and strengths when it comes to this type of character acting, so in the end, revisiting the shot was well worth it.
